The Chittering Valley will blossom in September, with the return of the

2023 Chittering SpringFest!  

Only a 1 hour drive from Perth CBD, the region has so much to offer and this year's programme includes family friendly activities, local history, great food and local produce, stargazing, wildflowers, art and craft and entertainment.

Muchea Tree Farm Open Day

Sat 2 September 9am-4pm

 

Activities include:

  • Plant Propagating Workshop with Sally & Natalie. 9.30 am or 12.30pm. $15pp. Max 12 people. Please BYO secateurs.  

  • Adults Art Workshop with Morris Jacobs. Sessions available throughout the day. $15pp. Paints and materials included.

  • Floristry Workshops with Raeh Flowers. 10am, 11.30am & 1.30pm. BYO Vase/Vessel $30pp or Buy a Vase/Vessel $45pp

  • Kids Art Activities run by Eco Gecko's Marnie Giroud & Friends. $15pp. Materials included.

  • Wholesale Nursery Tour. 11am.

Chittering Landcare Wildflower Show

Celebrating 32 Years! Landcare’s Wildflower show is a must see!  

Speak to knowledgeable people, identify wildflowers and weeds and appreciate displays of local wildflower specimens.

Local Goat - Living The Dream

Gerald and Julie Drummond both grew up in suburban Perth, on the farm tour you will hear their story of how they came to live off-grid, on 148 acres in Gingin.

The Drummonds live in a straw-bale house built by Gerald, which is serviced by a stand-alone solar power system and rainwater tanks. Two-thirds of the property is set aside as banksia woodland.

Now they milk a small herd of dairy goats to make award-winning cheeses and gelato.

​

The tour includes a gelato on arrival, an information session on the property and goats, cheese tastings and a cheese of your choice to take home. (Please bring an esky/cool bag to take your cheese home.)

Springtime Stargazing Adventure

Come on a family space adventure under the beautiful dark skies of Chittering.

Find the constellations and take a closer look at Mars and the rings of Saturn through large telescopes.  

We’ll look for far-off galaxies and giant star clusters and play space games with the kids!

14K Brewery will be offering Fire Cider and Cordial tastings.

Northern Valleys Locavore Store will have Hot Soup and rolls available for purchase (in addition to their pre-ordered picnics and children’s plates).

Historic Tour & Wattle Tree Talk

Owner, Diane Pope opens her gates for a tour of one of the earliest homestead complexes in the Shire.  She's joined by Historian, Writer and Researcher, Anthea Harris, who will share information on Australia's floral emblem, the Wattle.

Muchea Tree Farm presents their first Art Exhibition showcasing local artists including Stacy Stanly, Jackie Clementson, Marnie Giroud, Morris Jacobs, Tammie West and more. Gold coin donation to take part in the public choice awards: 1st prize $150 and 2nd prize $100.
